Common Ancestor

Is there anyone out there who thinks the whole different breeds/one common ancestor thing is unbelievable? Is there any other animal we have bred over the years that has such dramatic variety? These are the Guinness book record holders.

Sure...rats. Any genetic mutation can happen at any time; if you get lucky and you breed two dumbos, odds are you'll get a litter of dumbo-eared rats. Keep it up and you've established a genetic mutation as a new breed.

Yes but you don't get 100lb fluffy rescue rats, and 3oz. rats with squashed faces, super long skinny orange rats, fighting rats, lap rats etc. You get curly, hairless, dumbo, tail-less. I just can't believe you could go that far with rats.

It's also hard to believe the little thing in the picture is a dog at all. It's more of a guinea pig thing. A wolf-like common ancestor? That's some major mutating.
