This cute little guy is called a diving beetle, but he's also called a water tiger. They feed on tadpoles among other things. Josie found him swimming around in the shallow water on top of a pool cover surrounded by tadpoles. She named him Spike. I'd like to call him Hurley, Ralph, or Chuck. He's living in my house. Ewww. Diving Beetle!
This cute little guy is called a diving beetle, but he's also called a water tiger. They feed on tadpoles among other things. Ithink he's a fascinating creature, however, I'd have to think twice about swimming in that pool now. I'd also make sure that the container he's residing in had a good tight fitting lid!
